Wireless Charging Again
I blew out another LED on my wireless charger detector. So I modified it to be simpler, and more interesting.
I removed the full wave rectifier, and put on 2 LEDs, one polarized in each direction across the loop.
Held up to a Qi wireless charger, both red and green LEDs light up. This means there’s current flowing both directions in the coil. Which makes sense. When the charger pulses a magnetic field, it induces current in the coil of my contraption.
When that magnetic field fades, the collapse causes an opposite current in the coil of my contraption.
I haven’t blown out an LED since I did this. Apparently rectifying pulse and collapse wasn’t a good decision.
