My Old School

Here’s an incredible cover of Steely Dan’s My Old School, the enigmatic jazz/rock song from 1973. Happy 50th.

For some reason, I often find covers of old songs to be more interesting than the originals. Sometimes there’s a cover so good, it brings tears to yours eyes, even if it’s almost totally different than the original.

As far as old schools go, the last time I was in Rolla was in 1986, I think. I have no interest in visiting the Missouri University of Science and Technology (nee UMR) campus. I was in Kirksville last circa 1998, I did not visit Greenwood Elementary School, Washington Elementary School, Ophelia Parrish Junior High School, or Kirksville Senior High. I don’t think I’ve been on the campus of Truman State for longer than that.
